The Angel Fund at Carolina Veterinary Critical Care exists to help pets receive lifesaving treatment when financial limitations might otherwise stand in the way. Supported through community partnerships and donations, the fund is used to assist families facing unexpected emergencies—providing critical care, procedures, and support when it's needed most.
The Angel Fund was inspired by a young Great Dane puppy who belonged to a local realtor, then with the Engel & Völkers May River Group office. The puppy required several days of intensive care to survive parvovirus, and during that time it became clear how quickly the cost of emergency treatment can become overwhelming for families. Wanting to make a meaningful difference, the group partnered with Carolina Veterinary Critical Care and committed to donating a portion of every commission to support pets and families in need. Today, that realtor continues her support through May River Group – Maxey Blackstream Christie's, which carries on the commitment to donate a portion of every commission to help pets and families in need.
That shared effort became the foundation of the Angel Fund—created to help ensure that financial hardship doesn't prevent pets from receiving lifesaving emergency care. Through this fund, we're able to bridge the gap between urgent medical needs and financial hardship, ensuring more pets have the chance to recover and return home to their families.
