How We Do Things

Veterinary technician gently hugging a cat with a bandaged leg after a blood donation in BlufftonEmergency visits are very different from routine veterinary care—they can be emotional, stressful, and time-sensitive. To best support both pets and their families, we use a structured triage system to quickly assess each patient's condition and prioritize care based on medical urgency.

Upon arrival, our team evaluates every pet and assigns a priority level. Patients with life-threatening conditions—such as difficulty breathing, heat stroke, trauma, or suspected poisoning—are treated immediately. Those with urgent but stable concerns, like vomiting or urinary issues, are seen as soon as possible, while non-life-threatening conditions may safely wait a bit longer.

This process ensures that the most critical patients receive immediate attention when every second matters. If your pet is waiting to be seen, we truly appreciate your patience and understanding—our team may be actively working to save a life.
